Vintages in Chile

Vintages in Chile Chilean flag

Chilean viticulture dates from the time of conquistadors who imported vines from Europe in the 16th century. The country has not experienced the ravages of phylloxera, and keep not grafted vines brought in the mid-19th century by Don Luis Cousiño. The production of wines is largely in the Central Valley, a region bordered by two mountain ranges, crossing many rivers such as the Aconcagua, the Maipo, the Cachapoal the Tinguiririca, the Teno, the Lontué, the Loncomilla and the Maule, and extending over 80 km north and 350 km south of the capital Santiago.
